Performing professionally since 2004, Airi Mori is a Japanese-born, Los Angeles-based, Pop/R&B Soul Singer/Songwriter/Music Producer/Audio Engineer in the style of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion.
Born and raised in Nagoya, Japan, Airi started singing American Pop songs at age seven--long before ever learning to speak English. A very serious student, she practiced music for up to six hours a day for over fifteen years and earned a degree in International Studies with honors from the prestigious Waseda University in Japan. She also studied in England for a year as an International exchange student at Royal Holloway, University of London.
In 2013, she moved to Los Angeles where she was soon acknowledged by other great writers/musicians, such as a Grammy winning songwriter, Allan Rich (who has written songs for Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole, and ‘NSYNC). Adding to her list of credits, she has danced in Japanese television commercials for major brands (Takarakuji and Parco), performed her original material live before an audience of 3,000 people at a major music venue in Tokyo (Ebisu Garden Place), and sang backups for Miki Howard at the famous Catalina Bar and Grille in Los Angeles. She was the only Japanese guest singer for a charity song “You Bring Me Back Tomorrow” for A3M (Asians for Miracle Marrow Match) project to bring awareness of the bone mallow donation and performed in front of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (March, 2014).
She graduated from Independent Artist Program at Musicians Institute in March, 2014 where she studied music business and publishing as well as song writing, recording and producing music. To further deepen her knowledge of audio processing and mixing, she enrolled in the Audio Engineering program at Musicians Institute where she gained hands-on experience of working with Neve, API and SSL consoles and was certified as a Pro Tools Operator Music. Upon her graduation in March, 2015, she was selected as the only one student who received an award for her mixing and mastering project among all the audio engineering students from all over the world. During her study, she interned at Lurssen Mastering Studio with excellent reputation where she helped them work with projects including Foo Fighters, Chappie Soundtrack, Pitch Perfect 2 Soundtrack (Released on May 15, 2015), and Juanes.
Her single, "Heartbeat" is featured in a top dance artist Kento Mori's newly released DVD "1" as its endroll song (April 22, 2015).
She is currently working on her debut independent album, “Reason of Love”, which showcases her writing, producing, mixing and performing talents.
